He's Your Replacement
02:59
|
|||
He's your replacement.
And he does all those things and has much more life than you.
Drives a nice car, yeah. And he takes her round and into town and more.
She said she'd send you a postcard and maybe write you a letter, soon.
la la la la la
He's your replacement.
He gives her all the time that you know you never had.
Talks of tomorrow and that is something that you know you just don't have.
She said she'd send you a postcard or maybe write you a letter, soon.
la la la la la
She said she's send you a postcard or maybe write you a letter, soon.
He's your replacement.
And he does all those things and has much more life than you.
Drives a nice car, yeah. And he takes her round and into town and more.
She said she'd send you a postcard or maybe write you a letter, soon.
la la la la la
He's your replacement.

Crows Sing Loud
04:00
|
|||
My friend I’m sorry it has come to this.
How we got here is nobody's guess.
Like a virus living in my head
I feel all doubt and growing dread.
While I’m convinced we’re nearly dead
You offer no hope or will to live.
Won’t you get back, get back at it?
You’re hung so low like a marionette.
But you dance for no one, you don’t understand
The curtain will draw before you command.
And anyone who’s cared to lend us a hand
Won’t wait for you to strike up the band.
That’s the way that it goes
Everybody knows now
Baby crows sing loud.
But they might not ever take wing.
Your best excuse was your last goodbye
and nobody heard that you didn’t try.
In the black fetid air of a sleepless night
you knew you were well when you weren't alright.
Ah, the glimmer of the fading dawn:
will you look back and see that it’s gone?
Or maybe you thought it was never there?
Do you even know? Do you care?
That’s the way that it goes
Everybody knows now
Baby crows sing loud.
But they might not ever take wing.

Forgotten
05:14
|
|||
Holding all your money, waiting for the train.
Measuring your coffin, and sending it to Spain.
White steps from the chapel. It doesn't look the same.
All those creepy faces, projecting phony pain.
And you wonder what it mean.
Forgotten, quite obscene.
Holding all your money, waiting for the plane.
They sent away your coffin, but it never went to Spain.
It didn't go to the Chapel and it didn't look the same.
And you wonder what it all means.
You've been forgotten; it's quite obscene.
And you wonder what it seems.
Forgotten, quite obscene.

Miss Six Foot Legs
03:27
|

Miss Six Foot Legs
Miss Six Foot Legs
She walks into trouble.
Muscles taut, in a bundle
Sinews flex forever
She aches with potential
Her polyurethane smile
doesn’t fool me for one minute.
Her face shows a denial
of a cool desire infinite
while all the while she’s in it.
Miss Six Foot Legs
Miss Six Foot Legs
She plays to the masses.
Innuendos in the dark
fly through the air to find their mark
on unsuspecting undergrads.
She whispers through their skin
like an osmosis of libido.
And once she’s there within
she blows like a tornado.
Leaving only shadows
no time left for heroes.
All of these young fellows
hang at her frozen gallows.
Miss Six Foot Legs.
Her polyurethane smile
doesn’t fool me for one minute.
Her face shows a denial
of a cool desire infinite
while all the while she’s in it.
All the while she’s in it. Miss Six Foot Legs.

Never Come Back
03:20
|
|||
There she goes, she'll never come back, never come back to you.
Oh no, never come back, never come back to you.
Once you decide that you need her by your side.
Admit that you lied and that you can't let her run and hide.
Get on board that late night train to London.
Get on board or she'll never come, never come back with you.
Oh no. Never come back, never come back with you. No.
Once you decide that you need her by your side.
Admit that you lied and that you can't let her run and hide.
Sha la la baby!
Once you decide that you need her by your side.
Admit that you lied and that you can't her run and hide.
There she goes. She'll never come back, never come back to you.
Oh no. Never come back. Never come back to you. Oh no.
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby.

Primrose Hill
03:39
|
|||
I followed her home, down Primrose Hill.
Stayed back a dozen meters else my shadow would tell.
Out with her keys, undo the locks.
Inside with her groceries that she'd bought at the shops
and I stared at her through the window unpacking
the tins of mincemeat, oranges, and wine.
Out of the 'zoo, oh what will I do
asking what I had been doing outside her house at two?
The afternoon was getting away.
I'd stood with sweaty tourists on a very hot day
on Primrose Hill looking all around me
and then it was her in a short skirt and blonde hair singing a song.
On Primrose Hill and then it was her in a short skirt and blonde hair swaying along.
Then I got scared that she would see
and I didn't feel like staying to explain my story.
So I walked off down Adelaide Road. There was Chalk Farm Station.
I took The Tube home and sat alone thinking if I'd offered to help her
I might be there now, holding her close!
Primrose Hill!

Baby, I Don't Care
03:30
|
|||
Laugh if you want to. Cry if you need to. Oh, baby. I don't care.
Stay if you need to. Leave if you want to. Oh, baby. I don't care.
You can live your life alone, talking to your phone.
You can life your life for free, but you're not gonna live off me.
No way.
You can win if you try to. Lose if you want to. Oh, baby. I don't care.
You can wonder all you want to. Leave if it suits you. Oh, baby. I don't care.
You can live your life alone, talking to your phone.
You can live your life for free, but you're not gonna live off me.
Never again.
You can live your life alone, talking to your phone.
You can live your life for free, but you're not gonna live off me.
Scheme if it pays well. Lie if it doesn't. Oh, baby. I'm not there.
Gone away, gone away, gone away. Oh, baby. I'm not there.

Lament For Brian Jones
03:50
|
|||
You're asking me, "what was the matter with him?"
Pushing ever forward, nothing in his way.
He had his chances, he didn't try. Nobody saved him, that's why he died.
A tragic figure out of time, he left the banquet still in his prime.
Pushing ever forward, nothing in his way.
Pushing ever forward, nothing in his way.
When they took his body home, they laid him down, King Rolling Stone.
The teardrops seemed so hard to take, and all his friends were proven fake.
Pushing ever forward, nothing in his way.
You're asking me "what was the matter with him?"
You're asking me "what was the matter with him?"
Pushing ever forward, nothing in his way.

Under The Sky
04:17
|
|||
Half the time longer and half the time brighter well, round round go the days. Ooo I'm pressing, yeah I'm pressing on.
One side longer and one side shorter well, all that's just decay.
Ooo I'm guessing, yeah I'm guessing wrong.
Under the sky we live and then we die
like everything alive trying to get by.
Under the sky we live and then we die
like everything alive trying to get by
everything alive, trying to get by.
Far from the finish, I started but I didn't have a plan or path to hold.
Ooo I'm dreaming, yeah I'm dreaming on.
Happy in the moment for a party or a loner. Crash, crash day and night.
Ooo with the people, yeah with the people. Alright! Alright!
Under the sky we live and then we die
like everything alive trying to get by.
Under the sky we live and then we die
like everything alive trying to get by
everything alive, trying to get by.
